North Palm Beach is famous for its crystal clear water, pristine beaches and vast green golf courses. But with outdoor activities comes the risk of injuries, so it’s always best to warm up and cool down with stretches to avoid hurting yourself.

If the damage is already done and you need quality holistic pain relief that’s affordable and doesn’t require expensive surgeries or medications, come to Active Health. Our clinic offers modern treatments for joint and muscle pain from an impressive team featuring more than 100 years of combined experience to boost your wellbeing from the inside out.

To stay at the top of your golf game and boost your overall health, we suggest incorporating the following five stretches into your daily routine.

The Twisting Stretch

To stretch your hamstrings and back, place your legs wider than your hips and bend down touching the opposite hand to the opposite foot while keeping the other forearm crossed behind the lower back.

The Scarecrow Twist

Place your feet slightly wider than your hips. Then, take your golf club and place it over your upper back, holding it with both elbows bent and your arms weaved back into it, and forearms facing directly ahead, in the same stance as a scarecrow. Then, twist your torso as far as you can while looking behind you. This stretches the spine and prepares you for some epic golf swings.

The Standing Side Stretch

Holding your golf club at arm’s length stretched out to your side while crossing the opposite leg over your ankle, stretch your free arm over your head in the direction of the club.

The Hip Press

To loosen your hips and hamstrings, step one foot in a lunge position while holding your club directly ahead. Then, bend your foot up and keep your back straight, and lean into the hamstring using the club as support.

The Shoulder Floss

This effective shoulder stretch works by positioning your feet shoulder-width apart and lifting your club over your head until you reach parallel to the floor behind you.
